The principle is related to the CNC Wire cut EDM machines process, High voltage pulse train containing short period ON & Off time applied within Work piece & electrode (Wire) where the wire is enclosed by deionized water and works as the dielectric. During ON time dielectric breaks & displays conductive to pass high peak current & melts the substance. Wire electrode mainly from brass or stratified copper of diameter ranging from 0.33 mm to 0.070mm is used to erode the material.
Wire electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a method of metal machining in which a tool removes thousands of sparks from a metal work piece. A non-conventional method, though hardly a new one, CNC Wire cut EDM machines works on parts resistant to traditional machining processes, but only if these parts are electrically conductive; normally, they are non-ferrous, and include steel, titanium, super alloys, brass, and various other elements. Instead of cutting the material, EDM melts or vaporizes it, creating comparatively small chips and implementing a very accurate cut line.
